My doctor recommended Dapoxetine hydrochloride, but the results I got were mixed at best. Sometimes I did last longer, but sometimes I had trouble getting an erection. Not really a big help in the bedroom. It definitely reduced my libido - so basically I was trading in one problem for another. I'll definitely be trying something else in the future !

Dapoxetine Hydrochloride - What kind of drug is it?

Dapoxetine Hydrochloride

The actual full chemical name for Dapoxetine is dapoxetine hydrochloride. Dapoxetine (brand name Priligy) is a short-acting SSRI drug (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men. SSRI's are a class of compounds typically used as antidepressants in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, and some personality disorders. They can also sometimes be effective and used in treating premature ejaculation problems, impotence, and some cases of insomnia.

Dapoxetine hydrochloride was originally an antidepressant and one of the side effects of several antidepressants is retarded ejaculation (an inability to reach orgasm), inability to sustain an erection and/or impotence. It was pharmacologist Thor Karl who spotted the repositioning potential of Dapoxetine hydrochloride and suggested its use as a treatment for premature ejaculation. The chemical analysis for Dapoxetine hydrochloride is listed below:

SSRI's and Dapoxetine hydrochloride.

dapoxetine ssri chemical Prior to the development of Dapoxetine hyrdrochloride (Priligy), many doctors prescribed antidepressants or SSRIs to patients suffering from premature ejaculation for off-label use. Dapoxetine hydrochloride works like SSRIs and helps in delaying orgasm and ejaculation.

However, there is a distinct difference between regular anti-depressants and Dapoxetine because Dapoxetine hyrdrochloride is absorbed and eliminated by the body faster than its counterparts. Dapoxetine takes a few hours to be absorbed and eliminated as opposed to days taken by other antidepressants.

Just like Viagra and other impotence medications, Dapoxetine hyrdrochloride is a 'situation specific' drug, and is not taken every day. Dapoxetine hydrochloride needs some time to be absorbed into the body to function. As a result, Dapoxetine should be taken 2-3 hours before you expect to have sexual intercourse. Dapoxetine hydrochloride comes in two dosage strengths, 30mg and 60mg. Your doctor will most likely prescribe the lower dosage to you and will increase the dosage only if the lower dosage does not work for you. We only recommend men buy Dapoxetine hydrochloride online if recommended to do so by their doctor.

Unfortunately, some of the side effects of these antidepressants and Dapoxetine hydrochloride are impotence, decreased libido, and loss of interest or desire for sex. Obviously these potential side effects run contrary to helping men cure their premature ejaculation.

Basically, while they may help you last longer during sex, they might also eliminate your desire to want sex in the first place, and may decrease your erectile function and therefore your ability to even have intercourse at all. This is obviously one of the biggest drawbacks and potential roadblocks to having Dapoxetine hydrochloride approved for widespread use.

Other potential side effects of Dapoxetine hydrochloride include:

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness

SSRIs like Dapoxetine hydrochloride can cause various types of sexual dysfunction such as anorgasmia, erectile dysfunction, and diminished libido. Initial studies found that such side effects occur in less than 10% of patients, but since these studies relied on unprompted reporting, the frequency was probably underestimated. Additionally, in a small percentage of patients there can be some more serious and potentially life-threatening side effects from using SSRI's for an extended period. Researchers have shown that in addition to other dangers, there is also an established direct link between suicide and violent behaviour and the use of SSRIs.

Premature Ejaculation - Alternatives to Dapoxetine hydrochloride.

stop premature ejaculationWhile Dapoxetine hydrochloride may one day provide a viable option for men with premature ejaculation, it may not be available for some time. Even if it is approved, it may not provide enough positives for many men to use it, compared to the negative side effects many will experience.

As you'll see in our Dapoxetine testimonials, many men get superior results using herbal premature ejaculation treatments which have been formulated by doctors and have proven to be completely safe. The best part is these PE formulas also increase libido and erectile function, instead of reducing it like many SSRI's like Dapoxetine hydrochloride do.

The main drawbacks to Dapoxetine hydrochloride if it gets approved, are the high cost and the negative and potentially dangerous side effects. Conversely, the most popular Dapoxetine alternatives are proven to be completely safe and are extremely affordable for the average person. The top rated PE products we've reviewed can usually be purchased for about $1 per day when receiving multiple-bottle discounts.

While we do hope that one day Dapoxetine hydrochloride will emerge as a safe and effective choice for treating premature ejaculation, that day may be far off - and might not happen at all if it's long term safety cannot be established. In the meantime we recommend men look into the myriad of other options which exist to safely eliminate premature ejaculation. Try one of these doctor recommended PE treatments and enjoy the confidence of knowing you're using the safest, most affordable, and effective premature ejaculation cures available.
